It’s that time of year again! National Intern Day is July 28th!

NDBT has a formal ten-week rotational internship program that provides college sophomores or juniors with an introduction to career possibilities in a community bank. Often, the assumption is that banking is only for those interested in lending, however, we aim to immerse our interns in many different roles within banking! Our rotational program includes exposure to all areas of NDBT ranging from Credit and Lending, Trust and Wealth Management, IT, Risk and Audit, NDBT Cares, Deposits, Accounting, and other areas. The program is designed to introduce our interns to the many facets of a community bank.

With the program’s design, we hope that it not only benefits interns, but our managers as well, and their ability to contribute to the future of community banking and the banking industry. Collectively, our bankers have a wealth of experience and take great pride in equipping the next generation of bankers. Our interns have observed this while working closely with our bankers. Texas A&M student and NDBT Summer 2022 Intern, Reagan Ferl, noted that her favorite part of the internship is everyone’s willingness to take time out of their day to teach her. Returning intern, Tyler Jackson, has noticed the changes NDBT makes to improve the program, stating “it’s been so great to work for a bank that is innovative on every front and dedicated to the future of relationship banking.”

NDBT’s goal for the program is to develop the best internship program in the State of Texas. We are so honored to provide this opportunity to the next generation and can’t wait to see what the future holds for each of our 9 special students and those who will join us in coming years!
