Created to help strengthen homeownership in communities that have been historically underserved, the NDBT HomeStart Purchase Assistance Program provides closing cost assistance or low down payment to qualified individuals1 in Dallas, Collin or Denton counties.

Closing Cost Assistance: May only be used towards closing costs. Not applicable towards equity and no cash back allowed. Limited fund availability. First come, first served. Prepayment penalty will apply if paid off or refinanced in the first 3 years from closing date. Prepayment penalty is calculated as a percentage of the outstanding loan balance at payoff: 2% if paid off during the first two years and 1% if paid off during the third year. Final credit amount will be determined at time of application.

1% Down Payment: Down payment is based on lesser of purchase price or appraised value. 

1To be eligible for the HomeStart Purchase Assistance Program, the borrower(s) must first qualify for the NDBT HomeStart Program and be a first-time homebuyer or have not owned a home in the last 3 years. Subject property must be located in Dallas, Collin or Denton counties and occupied by the borrower(s) as their primary residence. Borrower(s) must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Borrower must attend an NDBT Homebuyer Workshop.
