Our Story

A Texas Banking Original dedicated to true community banking.

With a rich history and deep roots in the communities we serve, NDBT personifies community banking built from a foundation of long term relationships and service excellence. It’s part of what has made us a customer favorite for more than 60 years. It’s a story we love to share.

The Journey

NDBT opened its doors in 1961 as North Dallas Bank & Trust, Co. with $2 million in assets, three officers, and seven employees.  Nine years later, founding directors Bert Fields, Porter Lindsley, Sr., and W.F. English purchased the land at the southwest corner of LBJ Freeway and Preston Road that would soon become home to the 12-story North Dallas Bank Tower and the Dallas Banking Center. Expansion to Plano, Las Colinas, Frisco and Addison began in 1994. A new name and brand, NDBT, was created in 2021, followed by the remodel and renovation of the Dallas Banking Center and NDBT Headquarters. This is just part of the journey that began and continues for a true:

Our Story

NDBT (North Dallas Bank & Trust, Co.) has proudly served the North Texas community since 1961, growing steadily from modest beginnings to become one of this area’s largest independent banks. We have stood strong throughout that time, demonstrating our commitment to those we serve while maintaining an unwavering history of profitability under the same name and ownership.

NDBT was founded on the premise of serving the entrepreneurs, the business leaders and the families who understand the value of personal insights and relationships in driving our community onward and upward.

While changes in the economy, technology, regulations and customer preferences will result in occasional changes in our business, we will never change our commitment to making progress personal through Authentic Intelligence, the human touch that technological advancements can never replace.

Now you know our story – but what about yours? Please contact us today, because we truly want to know.

Regards,

Larry Miller
President/CEO and Chairman of the Board

Our Communities

At NDBT, we don’t just serve the communities in which we do business, our bankers and professionals serve within the communities they work and live. Giving back is part of our DNA. From efforts as simple as volunteering our time to support winter coat drives to instrumental monetary contributions to organizations devoted to improving our society, we proudly do what we can for our fellow Texans.

We are honored to support organizations with a variety of meaningful endeavors, such as providing financial literacy, supplying food for needy families, preventing child abuse and promoting health and wellness for our future generations.

NDBT Cares was created as our community engagement resource to ensure our efforts are coordinated in a way that best benefits the organizations we support and to assist in reaching more of our neighbors in need.
